Exciting Updates Close To Home

It has been an exciting few weeks close to The Reserve! Charlemont Rise Shopping Centre has officially opened, and the new local primary school, just one kilometre from home, has been formally named.
Charlemont Rise Shopping Centre, located at the corner of Horseshoe Bend Road and Precinct Road, offers a Woolworths, Domino’s Pizza, Snap Fitness, and a range of food, retail, and beauty options. It is great to see such an excellent addition to the community open, just a two-minute drive (or a ten-minute walk) away.
Yirrama (pronounced yi-rah-mah) Primary School has been named after the Wadawurrung word meaning “in the morning”. The name was chosen in close consultation with the Wadawurrung Traditional Owner group, Geographic Names Victoria, and community feedback.
Previously referred to as Horseshoe Bend Primary School during planning and construction, Yirrama Primary School will open its doors for Term 1, 2026, at 10 Amber Avenue, Charlemont, making it a fantastic, close-to-home option for families that call The Reserve home.
The school is shaping up to be a vibrant community hub, with construction of the following facilities well underway:
- Two state-of-the-art learning neighbourhoods
- Administration and library building
- Outdoor sports field and hard courts
- A community hub with a multi-use indoor court, canteen, and arts/music spaces
